Attendance

To notify Cottonwood when your student is absent you can send an email or call the school office.

• Email cottonwood.attendance@usd305.com (Please include the reason and any symptoms associated with the illness in your email.)

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

Arrival and Breakfast

• Students eating breakfast should not arrive earlier than 7:55 a.m. because there is no supervision before 7:55 a.m. The east entrance on Baker Street will be opened at 7:55 a.m. for students who will eat breakfast at school. (Students arriving after 8:05 a.m. for breakfast may enter the main entrance on Phillips Street.) If your child is eating breakfast, please make sure they are present by 8:15 a.m
• Students who are not eating breakfast should not arrive earlier than 8:15 a.m.  

Parking

• Please do not park in circle drives before or after school. The circle drives are used for buses and drop off only.  
• If you need to enter the building, please use the parking lot. 

Dismissal

• Upon dismissal at 3:25 p.m., Kindergarten students will be picked up inside the fence on the Kindergarten playground. Kindergarten students are not allowed to leave until an adult has checked in with the teacher. 
• First grade students will exit the west doors on Phillips St.
• Second and third grade students will exit the north doors on Walnut St.
• Fourth and fifth grade students will exit the east doors on Baker St.

Don't Forget Outdoor Clothing

Please be sure that students come to school with coats, hats and gloves. We go outdoors for recess when temperatures are above 20 degrees (including wind chill).
